Visualization is not decoration. It determines whether an analysis reaches the person who has to act on it.

Design for the decision, not the dataset
A dashboard that displays everything available communicates nothing in particular. Start from the two or three questions the audience needs answered, and give those the visual priority.
Respect the reader's working memory
One idea per chart. Direct labelling instead of legends where possible. Consistent colour meaning across the report. Ordered categories rather than alphabetical ones. These conventions reduce the effort required to extract the finding.
Show uncertainty honestly
Survey estimates carry sampling error. Presenting point estimates without confidence intervals or sample sizes invites over-interpretation of differences that the data cannot support.
